Hi! I am Grégoire, a 4th year Game Design student at Rubika France, specializing in Narrative Design.
As a Narrative Designer, my mission is to define and tailor systems, ideas and methods to create the most impactful stories in an interactive context, and to communicate these choices with the rest of the team.
Telling stories with games also implies a lot of writing and reflexions on characters and story arcs. I had the opportunity to develop these skills during my scholarship at Rubika as well as my internships at Play Curious and Ludogram. I am a native French speaker who's also fluent in English, spoken and written, thanks to lots of traveling, writing and consuming media in English.
While I love writing fiction and imagining stories, I'm also a passionate game designer, fluent in the language of mechanics and rulesets. I've worked on several projects as a team manager, a gameplay designer and a level designer, as well as a writer.
Being a fairly sociable and agreeable individual, I believe I am capable of fitting in with any team. I value clear design documentation and communication and I love involving everyone in the design process.
Hobbies
Alternative Music
Music is a very important part of me. Whether I'm alone or with friends, working or relaxing, I always put on some tunes to fit the current mood. Video games with great soundtracks always stick out for me.
I am especially obsessed with Indie and Alternative Rock from the 90s to modern day, with bands such as Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, Pixies and MGMT being some of my favorites. I also enjoy my fair share of electronic music and hip-hop.
I play the electric and acoustic Guitar and Bass and pass my time learning songs, improvising over records and creating melodies.
Video Games
Some of my favorite games include Outer Wilds, Disco Elysium, The Witcher 3, The Witness and the Half Life series.
I am fond of games that let the player explore a world at their own pace, games with a strong narrative component and games that bring something new to the table. This is why I also enjoy playing a lot of indie games, which I don't always finish but appreciate nonetheless.
